ORGANIC LEMON MYRTLE PLANTATIONS
The Company’s principal business activity is in the cultivation and processing of Backhousia citriodora (Lemon Myrtle) the world’s richest known source of citral, an Australian native tree in a sustainable manner. We are a small company which began with an idea – why not make Lemon Myrtle global? Could it be done? Could it grow outside of Australia?
The answer is YES.
Currently our Plantations has orchards in Sekinchan, Kluang, Kuala Linggi and a commercial quarantine nursery in Hulu Langat. A new 50 acre project has commenced in conjunction with the Sabah Land Development Board in Tongod, Sabah. Our Plantations possesses internationally experienced staff with considerable know-how in the plantation and horticulture sector, including plant breeding, agronomy, and micro-propagation. Through our own R&D facilities we have developed new and improved plant material as well as improved crop husbandry practices. Our Plantations is in alliance with Malaysian Agricultural Research and Development Institute (MARDI) who are assisting with the establishment of an efficient system for mass propagation of Lemon Myrtle. Working in partnership with SEDIA / Sabah Land Development Board (SLDB) to establish 200 acres of Lemon Myrtle in Sabah. CTTC Tissue Culture Laboratory, Australia has produced sterile Backhousia citriodora (Lemon Myrtle) TC stock for transfer to Qzen Plantations. Liaising with the Malaysian Dept. of Agriculture in the establishment of Organic Certification under the Malaysian Organic Scheme. Malaysian Biotechnology Corporation Sdn Bhd (BiotechCorp) is co-operating in project management activities. Marditech Corporation (MARDITECH) has assisted in the overall technology and business development.
